On my travels, I can admit that it becomes quite lonesome, especially when there are no other merfolk about. Often, I find myself in deserted seas where my only company are fish... which do not make good conversation. I swam a great distance to explore new waters and stumbled upon the ruins of a mer civilization basked in moonlight. I hesitated not and began to swim through the ancient remains. Nothing of great importance was found; it was far more lifeless than I would have hoped. The waters were uncomfortably cold and the mer were sparse. Perhaps they migrated, leaving their belongings behind? I am not certain. Only they know... And perhaps on my next visit, the seas will be more inviting. Not only for me.
